Leisure
Man works to earn his livelihood. Except his working hours he has some time in hand. We call it leisure or spare-time. Leisure is the most important time in human life because during his working hours, man does only the routine work. But great thoughts, great literary works, great theories and great inventions are the outcome of man’s leisure. Newton discovered the laws of gravitation when he was enjoying his leisure in the garden. James Watt invented the steam-engine during his leisure hours.
Many people misuse or wrongly use their leisure. They don’t do any useful thing during their spare-time. They remain idle all the time. But an idle mind is the devil’s workshop. Many vices breed in man’s idleness. So, everybody should know how to make the best use of leisure.
Work is the best guard of man. If a man engages himself in useful work, he cannot find time to make any mischief. He cannot find time to consider about evil thoughts. So, man should keep himself engaged in some useful work during his leisure.
Students get much leisure in their school days and in their holidays. They should try to develop their natural abilities during the leisure. This will make them great in their future life.
मनुष्य अपनी जीविका अर्जित करने के लिए काम करता है। अपने काम के घण्टों के अतिरिक्त उसके पास कुछ समय होता है। हम इसे खाली समय या फुरसत का समय कहते हैं। खाली समय मानव जीवन में सबसे महत्वपूर्ण समय होता है क्योंकि उसके कार्य के घण्टों के दौरान, मनुष्य बंधाबंधाया काम करता है। लेकिन महान विचार, महान साहित्यिक कार्य, महान सिद्धान्त और महान खोजें मनुष्य के खाली समय का परिणाम हैं। न्यूटन ने गुरुत्वाकर्षण का नियम उस समय खोजा जिस समय वह बगीचे में खाली समय का आनंद ले रहा था। जैम्स बाट ने भाप के इंजन की खोज अपने फुर्सत के घण्टों के दौरान की थी।
कई सारे लोग अपने खाली समय का दुरुपयोग करते हैं या गलत तरीके से उपयोग करते हैं। वे अपने फुर्सत के समय के दौरान कोई उपयोगी कार्य नहीं करते हैं। वे पूरे समय फालतू रहते हैं। लेकिन खाली दिमाग शैतान का घर होता है। निष्क्रियता में कई बुराईयाँ जन्म लेती हैं। इसलिए, प्रत्येक को यह जानना चाहिये की फुर्सत के समय का सबसे बढ़िया उपयोग किस प्रकार से किया जाये।।
कार्य ही मनुष्य का सबसे अच्छा रक्षक होता है। यदि एक मनुष्य अपने आपको उपयोगी कार्यों में व्यस्त रखता है तो उसे कोई दुष्टता करने का समय नहीं मिलेगा। उसे बुरे विचारों के बारे में सोचने का समय नहीं मिलेगा। इसलिए, मनुष्य को फुर्सत के दौरान अपने आपको किसी न किसी उपयोगी कार्य में व्यस्त रखना चाहिये।।
विद्यार्थियों को अपने विद्यालय के दिनों में तथा छुट्टियों में अधिक फुर्सत मिलती है। उन्हें फुर्सत के समय अपनी स्वाभाविक योग्यता को विकसित करने की कोशिश करनी चाहिये। यह उन्हें उनके भविष्य के जीवन में महान बना देगी।
